Busy healthcare providers often need an alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS/ PALS/ BLS training. Because of location, time and trying to live a normal life, it's sometimes difficult to find a course that will fit your schedule. Therefore, OHM Medical has partnered up with HealthStream Inc.
The HealthStream Learning Center® (HLC) is the most widely adopted healthcare-specific learning management system in the U.S. Healthcare providers use the HLC for scheduling, assigning, tracking, delivering, and reporting on classroom and online learning to support improved outcomes. They handle content integration and hosting for approximately 5,000 online courses from a wide range of prestigious partners, including AACN, AWHONN, AHA, APIC, AORN, Laerdal Medical, Wolters Kluwer, and many others.
One of the e-learning courses hosted by Healthstream is HeartCode ACLS/PALS/ BLS. HeartCode ACLS/PALS/ BLS is the official, self-directed, comprehensive e-learning program from the American Heart Association® (AHA). HeartCode ACLS/PALS/ BLS tests healthcare providers’ CPR skills using the Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM) system or performing their skills infront of a live HSFC/ AHA Instructor. Studies indicate that the manikin feedback can almost immediately improve basic CPR skills performance. Learners also complete an interactive, cognitive portion that includes ten realistic patient scenarios covering the ACLS/PALS/ BLS algorithms, a team dynamics lesson, and provides access to AHA reference material. With HeartCode ACLS/PALS/ BLS, healthcare facilities will not only benefit from standardized ACLS/PALS/BLS competencies but it will also save them time and money compared to traditional classes.
