AHLS for Chemical Burns & Toxic Products of Combustion

AHLS for Chemical Burns is a 4 hour course and is derived from the AHLS Provider course. This course is derived from the AHLS Provider course and is intended for those who need the information, but are unable to attend a 2 day Provider course.

Course consists of didactic lecture and tabletop exercises. No exams or pre-requistes are required.

After completing the course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize that inhalation is the most common route of exposure at hazmat incidents
• List the routes of exposure for acids, bases, oxidizers, and white phosphorus
• Describe characteristic signs and symptoms of poisoning by hydrofluoric acid
• Recite the Poisoning Treatment Paradigm^TM for asphyxiant poisonings
