The pediatric workshop is designed to provide health care professionals with an assessment approach when providing care to the pediatric population. The workshop has been developed to provide health care professionals with the knowledge and skills to recognize and manage pediatric complications. The workshop discuss common respiratory, shock, and cardiac issues. The goal is to provide recognition and management skills to enable the health care provider to deliver safe and effective care. The workshop is augmented with practical case scenarios. The purpose of the case scenarios is to consolidate learning and to promote team collaboration when managing patients who present with Respiratory, Shock, and Cardiac issues.
- The workshop is four hours in length. It includes an OHM Medical Completion Certification.
- The workshop is an optional precursor to the Paediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS).
- The workshop is taught by experienced Paediatric Advanced Life Support Instructors.
- The workshop can be customized to meet the specific needs of a health care organization.
